He is LIGHT on specifics about how to achieve these but Giuliani is starting to lay out plans beyond defense (though the list does start with defense).
So what will Rudy do?
1. I will keep America on offense in the Terrorists’ War on Us.
2. I will end illegal immigration, secure our borders, and identify every non-citizen in our nation.
3. I will restore fiscal discipline and cut wasteful Washington spending.
4. I will cut taxes and reform the tax code.
5. I will impose accountability on Washington.
6. I will lead America towards energy independence.
7. I will give Americans more control over, and access to, healthcare with affordable and portable free-market solutions.
8. I will increase adoptions, decrease abortions, and protect the quality of life for our children.
9. I will reform the legal system and appoint strict constructionist judges.
10. I will ensure that every community in America is prepared for terrorist attacks and natural disasters.
11. I will provide access to a quality education to every child in America by giving real school choice to parents.
12. I will expand America’s involvement in the global economy and strengthen our reputation around the world.
Now we just need to know HOW he will do this. Here is a recap from his speech and the link to the commitments press release on the Giuliani website. The fill text of the speech is not yet there.

The other day on CNN Republican candidate Mike Huckabee said the following:
“I can tell you most of our prisoners would love to be in a facility more like Guantanamo and less like the state prisons that people are in in the United States.
It’s (Guantanamo) more symbolic than it is a substantive issue because people perceive of mistreatment when in fact there are extraordinary means being taken to make sure these detainees are being given really every consideration”
The clip is making its way through the left half of the blogosphere.
Now I haven’t currently seen the movie Sicko directed by Michael Moore but the clips I’ve seen from his various media appearances actually lend some credence to the statement. Moore boasts the incredible medical facilities and treatment given to prisoners at Guantanamo and had so much love for it he attempted to bring ailing 9/11 survivors to the facility for free health care.
So what does it mean? Who knows, I just think its interesting.

Kate Kaye has a story on Clickz about how candidates are using e-mail and she reports its for more than just fund raising. From the article:
McCain and Giuliani use it to push their books, Clinton and Edwards to get personal, and Obama to get the netroots out on the streets. In the political world, as in the e-commerce world, e-mail is often considered a tool best suited for bringing in the bucks. However, political campaigns are not only employing it to promote fundraising, but to update supporters while on the campaign trail, target opponents, promote events, push paraphernalia, and even appeal to their sweet tooth.
