Obama Ad Only Online
October 11th, 2007
Barack Obama has an online only ad reminding people (yet again) he was not in the Senate when the Iraq vote was cast.
I have three quick thoughts.
1) At this point the “I did not start this mess” speech has worked well for initial fundraising but doesn’t seem to have caught on with the general population.
2) It is nice to see a candidate paying attention to the Internet and this ad makes sense for fundraising. BUT…
3) We are three months away from the Iowa caucus. It is time for Obama to start spending that money on mediums that average people will see. Like television and radio. Though its nice to be online, he needs to get his message out to more people and start appealing to a group beyond the far left. I don’t see, other than fundraising, how this ad helps him in Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina. Which is exactly what his campaign should be considering with every single decision from now on. They chose to run a three state & Hollywood campaign, they should run those three states.
