Clay Confirmation on 50 New Superdelegates for Obama (Update)
March 6th, 2008
Update: Obama campaign says 50 isn’t true and the actual number is much lower. So either it was never true from the start OR after Clinton’s primary wins that numbered quickly dwindled.
From Political Wire:
Rep. Lacy Clay (D-MO), Sen. Barack Obama’s Missouri co-chairman and pledged Obama superdelegate, said Obama will gain the support of 50 undecided Democratic superdelegates later this week, according to the Columbia Missourian.
Said Clay: “She (Sen. Clinton) will not make up those numbers. This race is over.”
Earlier in the week Tom Brokaw reported that the Obama camp was telling him the Senator had 50 superdelegates lined up and ready to endorse him.
